St. Joseph

St. Joseph is the husband of St. Mary and the foster-father (guardian) of Jesus. He is the father figure of the Holy Family. St. Joseph was a carpenter and a righteous man. He was virtuous and humble. St. Joseph received communication from angels in the Gospels, and he acted in obedience to their promptings. St. Joseph is silent in all four Gospels.

CCC 564 By his obedience to Mary and Joseph, as well as by his humble work during the long years in Nazareth, Jesus gives us the example of holiness in the daily life of family and work.
