“We proclaim Your death, O Lord,
and profess Your Resurrection,
Until You come again.”
– From the Order of the Mass

God raised up Jesus on the third day and granted that He be seen, not by all, but only by such witnesses as had been chosen beforehand by God – by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. He commissioned us to preach to the people and to bear witness that He is the one set apart by God as judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets testify, saying that everyone who believes in Him has forgiveness of sins through His name. Acts 10:40-43
– Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on us, alleluia.
Q. 442. Who were the Evangelists? Answer: St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke and St. John are called Evangelists, because they wrote the four Gospels bearing their names, and Evangelia is the Latin name for Gospels. St. Mark and St. Luke were not Apostles, but St. Matthew and St. John were both Apostles and Evangelists. Source: Baltimore Catechism
